I have decided to analyse and annotate this Taylor Swift Eras Tour poster in order for me to further develop my understanding of how media language is used in different media text. By deconstructing it, I can use the different methods I have learned about to assist me in crafting my magazine.

Every detail on this poster is deliberate. The media language used: the font, the colour palette, the outfits, it’s specific to the target audience of this poster and trying to push a narrative. For instance, the denotation of all the different Taylor’s. These all represent the different eras of Taylor Swift’s career. The connotation is that recently Taylor has been re releasing these albums under ‘ Taylor’s Version’  and has been reclaiming her art which Big Machine Records sold the original rights to Scooter Braun. The narrative of this art finally being reclaimed will push the audience to support Taylor and go on the tour. The use of the colour palette to signify each era was deliberate too.

I need to use Media Language when I create my magazine so that not only does it look match the theme but also that it pushes the narrative I am trying to accentuate.
